FATMon watches for major changes in the FAT. When changes reach the setup limits, a window pops up and notifies you of this change. If, for instance, you did not recently add or delete a major program, then you know you may have a disk error.
Once the FAT is corrupted, your files may be marked as free space, which means that they eventually disappear or become corrupted and their space becomes available for overwriting.
The program runs as a convenient icon in the System Tray area of the Windows taskbar.
