In depth
A closer look at Disk Access Lite
Disk Access Lite is a handy utility that helps you integrate your Windows OS-based computer into multi-vendor networks in order to access NFS-compatible files and UNIX resources. It allows you to use your Windows-running machine as a Network File System(NFS) server. The application gives you the possibility to access NFS files, which are UNIX specific.By mounting NFS server files to their systems, Windows OS computers can access them, as those files are treated as if they are on the client. Disk Access Lite is able to do all of this by using the Remote Procedure Call(RPC) protocol, a NFS-based algorithm that makes RPCs appear as a local process. With the help of other protocols, such as the External Data Representation(XDR), the application ensures portable data transmission, that usually takes place between a server and a client.
