S5 interprets a ASCII file with valid instructions. It combines these instructions with inputs and sets output signals. The instruction language consists of logic operation (and, or-and-not, or-not) and operands such as inputs, outputs, markers, timers, counters, and date and time functions.

You can also connect input and output hardware to switch electronic devices according to your instructions and input signals.
