In depth
A closer look at ProKalc
Almost every branch of science relies of some sort of calculus, including mathematical. Working with large numbers can be a pain but there are a lot of powerful calculators you can use to determine the necessary result. One suitable example in this regard is ProKalc, coming with an impressive variety of operations, as well as a tape to save history. The application can feel a little overwhelming at first because it bundles all of its functions in a simple, compact window. However, it splits specific calculators in different sections and window, whereas some buttons only act as triggers for advanced options. By default the tape recorder is active and all operations you perform end up there. It’s toggled at the press of a button, with the possibility to also enter edit mode in case you want to write down additional info or text. Although there’s no export option, you can manually copy tape content, or print it out on a sheet of paper.
