Overview

What is Unit Aware Edit Control?

lets you integrate unit conversion and unit system support in your Microsoft Foundation Class (MFC) applications.

In depth

A closer look at Unit Aware Edit Control

Unit Aware Edit Control is an extension of the MFC CEdit control implemented as a MFC extension DLL.

Unit Aware Edit Control works in conjunction with a unit database defined using the XML specification, which makes it easy to understand, maintain and extend. The software comes bundled with a Unit Conversion program to customize the units database.

Unit Aware Edit Control requires minimal changes to your MFC application. To use it, just replace the CEdits in your dialog header files with CUnitAwareEditCtls, make some additions to your dialog CPP files and to the string table.

Unit Aware Edit Control provides unit conversions that are built into your edit controls and an automatic display of unit symbols in the edit control. Changing unit systems (such as from English to SI) updates all the displayed values in the edit controls automatically.
