With NexgenIPL you are able to read and write different file formats and manipulate them. The following file formats are supported: BMP, GIF (including animated), PCX, PGM, PNG, PPM, TGA, and TIF. The write format also includes JPG. Data can come from disk or from memory, linked into the EXE as resources.

The following image manipulation routines are included: conversion of images to 32-bits per pixel; directly accessing bits; copy, fill, add, and paste support; difference, multiply, alphaBlend support; the ability to adjust brightness, contrast, highlight, midtone, shadow, hue, saturation, gammacorrection, HLS, red, green, and blue; and grayscale, negate, flip, and mirror support.
