is a collection of C++ libraries for implementing PC-based entertainment software and demonstrations.MythOS is an Open Source (previously commercial) C++ game development library set for the Windows 9x/NT platform using the DirectX APIs. Each library is a distinct component with defined dependences on other components.
MythOS contains numerous features including: a flexible memory manager for high-speed allocation; a powerful event system supporting a variety of input devices; a multi-threading kernel and system timer services for real-time processing; a complete file system for resource management; and a highly integrated 2D and 3D graphics pipeline supporting various shading options, texture-mapping, software rasterization, and Direct3D.
MythOS also provides network and physics support components for rapid development; multimedia support components for sound and animation playback; and development tools for data export, conversion, and file management.
