Net Term can act as a Telnet client for both local and dial-in networks and it can also be used as a ANSI standard terminal emulator on normal dial up bulletin boards. It has Winsock dialer capabilities, supports ZModem and Kermit file transfer protocols, includes an FTP server, and has tools to resolve host names to IP address and to finger sites. It supports full transparent printing from a UNIX host and it includes a UNIX script file that you can upload to your host to send text files to your computer, using the transparent feature. If you are a programmer, and you edit host files locally instead of using the Stone Age Unix editors provided on your host, NetTerm can free you from the drudgery of constantly downloading and uploading programming files. The program, netedit.c, can be uploaded to your host and compiled to support local editing. Then when you want to edit a host file, just enter "netedit xxxxxx", where xxxxxx is the host file name. The file will be downloaded to your computer, and placed within the editor of your choice. When the edit is completed, the file will be transferred back to the host. You can also edit and transfer binary files in the same way.
