A closer look at DNEWS
USENET news lets users to create and participate in multiple discussion groups on any topics of interest to them over the Internet or local TCP/IP-based networks. A news server performs two main tasks - it transfers news items around the world efficiently and presents an NNTP reading interface for use by news reader software. DNEWS dramatically conserves hard disk space and network bandwidth by using a "dynamic sucking feed" mechanism instead of a full-feed system to obtain newsgroup feeds.
