is a powerful system for monitoring, selecting, downloading and decoding binary newsgroup articles.
BNA provides a Windows Explorer-like interface to provide a number of features that make it easy to automate the process of binary retrieval. You can: retrieve binary articles from one or all subscribed newsgroups; apply filters to retrieved headers to selectively flag articles for retrieval; build a group of filters that will find and retrieve only the articles from newsgroups that match your specific criteria; filter out multi-part posts with missing sections; decode all articles into their binary equivalents either all at once, or on-the-fly as they are retrieved from the news server; view JPEG images immediately as they are retrieved and decoded; automate article retrievals and decoding and schedule it to run after hours; and ignore articles based on a determined length (e.g. less than 100 lines).
A filter wizard walks you through the creation of very powerful filters with a few simple clicks. BNA maintains a history of previously retrieved binary files, and avoids downloading these files again, regardless of how many times they are reposted to Usenet. Multiple servers are supported.
