A closer look at GimmIP

Idyle GImmIP runs as a System Tray icon. The icon shows a different color depending on whether you are connected or not and the speed of your throughput. A pop-up menu gives you access to a number of tools, including a display which shows your current IP address, a finger client, a name server lookup (whois) tool, a trace route utility, and a Ping client.

For monitoring servers and diagnosing network problems, you can create and run "sensors". These sensors can be used to watch and meaure your DNS server, your Web server, your FTP server, your LAN gateway, or any other type of service.
