for it to work properly, you need to install two programs: a server on your comptuer that will always be turned on and will ask you which files you'd like to share. Secondly the client for the portable device allows you to access these files via streaming. If you create several password protected access points that you can then assign each user for accessing a certain type of content the program will give you the option. For family-owned computers this is especially useful. Playit lets you listen to music and watch videos on your cell phone that are stored on your computer. Exceptionally helpful.
