You can create patterns up to 999 x 999 stitches, with up to 150 colors per pattern. Convert scanned pictures into patterns or overlay pattern on picture to allow tracing (supports BMP, PCX, GIF, and WMF images). The types of stitches supported include full, half, quarter, and back stitches, as well as French knots. It includes typical cross stitch symbols like those found in retail patterns. The colors of these stitches can be selected from 390 DMC colors plus Anchor and J and P Coats colors.
Pattern Maker also includes complete editing capabilities (undo, cut, copy, paste, move, flip, rotate, flood fill, fill backstitched area); complete user control over fabric color, grid style and stitch size; and a stitch summary feature for estimating the amount of floss needed for a pattern.
There are powerful features for creating camera-ready printouts. You can preview a pattern page layout prior to printing. Print full color patterns on a color printer or print black and white patterns (using symbols to represent thread types and colours).
