lets you create patterns for cross stitch, tapestry, rug making, and knitting.
You can import graphics files in nearly 40 different formats, scan photographs, or simply draw your designs freehand. In each case, the program asks the size of pattern to be created, and the number of colors to use. Each color is automatically matched to the nearest available thread colour in your chosen manufacturer's range. Color ranges are built in from DMC, Anchor, Paterna, Madeira, Appleton, Goodwear, Readicut Rug, Turkey Rug, Bramwell wools, and others. You can design in cross stitch, 1/4 and 3/4 stitch, half cross, backstitch, french knots and even beads in up to 220 colors per design.
The patterns it creates let you see what the stitched design will look like. The program does not only use colored squares or symbols in a grid but actually lets you design in crosses or tapestry-style stitches on a realistic background. You can choose from aida, evenweave (linen), tapestry canvas, rug making canvas, plastic canvas, grid, or plain background in a variety of colours.
Special tools let you type in text and have it converted to stitches, fill irregular shaped areas, easily swap colours, re-use parts of one design in another, move parts of the design over the top of other stitches and then move them away again, resize areas, assign symbols, and more.
