IRC client with many features.
AkwaIRC is written using Objective-C language and Apple's Cocoa APIs *only*. That's to say, it's designed for Mac OS X. Therefore, AkwaIRC provides numerous options like applying a transparency level to your windows when the application is not active. But this is just a little example. The userlist, small, elegant and fast, gives you all the information you need about your current channel's users (their nickname, user and hostnames, their status on the channel : operator, voice and on the network : irc-operator, away, available ...) AkwaIRC can handle as many sockets as you want at the same time. Indeed, if you want to connect to 25 IRC servers, or even more, that's definitely the easiest thing on earth. Just click the Edit button and configure your connection preferences using the Sets Manager. Moreover, you can use the preferences to choose which colors you want AkwaIRC to display when such or such an event occurs on the IRC. Thanks to Quartz, you can - obviously - prefers to chat in a channel with a transparent background :-) One of the latest functions I implemented is an auto-update method which checks, each time you start Akwa, whether a new version has been released and uploaded to our website or not.
You're sure to be up-to-date ;) Heh...
