Besides the plot of a profile, the properties of this profile are of interest, e.g lift, drag and moment. The program h4profile is designed and programmed for this reason. The geometry of profiles is shown. If available, the characteristics are shown in addition to the geometry of such profiles. Several functions for the analysis of the profile geometry are implemented.
Functions include:
- View profile sections
- Create 4/5 digit NACA profile sections
- Plot of aerodynmic data (lift, drag, moment, glide ratio)
- Geometric analysis: thickness, position of maximum thickness, curvature, first derivative of curvature (s. figure below)
- SQL database to search profiles added (s. figure below)
