Patch the Cross Frame Navigate security hole in IE3 and IE4.
The Cross Frame Navigate issue involves a vulnerability in Internet Explorer 3 and 4 that could allow a clever hacker to circumvent Internet Explorer's security safeguards. Thus, a malicious Web site operator could read the contents of files on someone's computer. Microsoft highly recommends that users of affected software download the patch. This vulnerability could also affect software that uses HTML functionality provided by Internet Explorer. All users with such programs should download the patch even if they do not run Internet Explorer as their default browser.
Note: To see if you need this patch, select About Internet Explorer from the Help menu. If the version is 4.01 (310), you already have the patch and do not need to download it again. For other versions of 4.01 and 4.0, Microsoft recommends that you download Internet Explorer 4.01 and then return to this page to download the patch.
