SearchX is an application that places a floating search field that you can move and position all over the screen. The search field looks just like the one in Apple's Safari browser. It allows you to search a multitude of sites include Google and MacUpdate.
Then SearchX will bring you to the result page for your search in your default web browser. SearchX comes with 28 different search places, including web site search, news search and image search places. An if that's not enough, you can add you own favorite search places yourself. One of the application's extra features is the ability to apply custom skins to change the whole look of the application.
