Overview
What is Missing Link?
Missing Link is a simple utility that allows you to open, run, or launch almost anything on your Mac from a link or a bookmark in a browser.
In depth
A closer look at Missing Link
Files, folders, applications, script applications, and a variety of other file types may be linked on disk much like items are linked on the web - the URL format is very similar.
But when clicked, linked items behave just as if they had been double-clicked in the Finder.
In addition, Missing Link can pass certain types of HTML and JavaScript form input to AppleScript handlers and may be used to make an HTML front end for a variety of AppleScript tasks that require user interaction.
It is intended for individual or local network use only, and its method of operation ensures a reasonable level of security. Links may be absolute or relative only with respect to user approved folders.
Missing Link works with most browsers on Mac OS X. (A demo for use with previous versions of the Mac OS is available on request.)
