The automatic transmission in an automobileuses the planetary gear train to transmit power from the engine to thewheels at various controllable speeds and torques.
The transmission ofpower is varied by locking one or the other of the three gears. With YPPlanetary Gear, you may observe the motion of a planetary gear train whenone of its parts is locked. The program also calculates the ratio of theangular velocities when one of its parts is locked.
