For mac users pdirequal is an advanced directory comparator utility. It can detect the smallest changes between folders and display the result clearly and intuitively. The differences are highlighted using colors and icons indicating the difference type (size, date, or item content). It displays compared directories side by side as expandable trees and the size and date for each item is indicated. Differences between directories are marked with color and easy-to-identify icons. In order to copy or delete a file or a folder click an individual item to select the appropriate action. It is represented by a red or blue arrow. You can then click on 'execute' to continue. Use the button 'synchronize' to sync folders. The direqual program displays different lines of text highlighting differences in words and characters when comparing files. The middle minimap shows all differences in both files. It allows you to make snapshots of any folder. Later you can use the image to compare other folders or see what has changed in the folder over time.
