lets you create and train a team of fire-breathing dinosaurs and compete against teams created by other players in modem play.
In depth
You also have the option to compete against teams built by other players. Simply click a button to send your team to the program author, Evryware. This is all automated using a modem and a toll-free number (you don't need an Internet connection). The next day your computer downloads the results. You get a complete playback of the contest to watch and analyze. Your first contest is free. You are charged a small fee for all additional contests (currently $8 for 7 contests).
The focus of Pyrosaurus is on the artificial intelligence that makes these dinosaurs come alive, and your strategy used to build and train your team. As you advance and your skills improve, more options become available to build bigger, stronger and smarter teams. Teams are always matched up with other teams at their same skill level.
