Overview
What is IISPassword?
Creating secure password protected web sites on Microsoft IIS has always been difficult.
In depth
A closer look at IISPassword
However, Apache has always had a better solution.
With IISPassword, that solution is now available for Microsoft IIS. Installed as a snap-in, directly integrated with the IIS administration console, IISPassword protects files, folders or even certain file types in just moments.
All this using virtual users instead of system user accounts.
The program integrates into the IIS properties dialog (MMC) and provides an easy to use interface that allows you to add user accounts and select the folder(s) to be protected.
You can define user privileges on a server, folder or even file level. In addition, IISPassword is compatible with the Apache .htaccess files, which allows you to easily transfer your .htaccess accounts to IIS and let IISPaswword take over.
Features:
· Password protects content without using system user accounts.
· Compatible with htaccess on Apache.
· User-friendly interface, fully integrated with IIS.
· Simple and powerful protection mechanism.
· Free of charge.
IISPassword is free for private, educational and commercial use.
