is a turn-based strategy game that takes place in a rich fantasy world where magic and primitive technology coexist.
With the arrival of the Humans, the fragile balance that existed between the ancient races (Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, and others) has changed into a struggle for power and survival.
You must raise and lead an army towards an apocalyptic battle that determines the fate of the world. During your quest, you can journey through many realms and landscapes, make alliances, and find magical artifacts. You must employ both strategic and tactical skills to command troops in capturing vital locations and defeating enemies in a variety of scenarios.
Set in an age of magic and mystery, Age of Wonders features 12 unique races, over 50 different heroes with individual personalities and abilities, dozens of special items, a diverse array of characters, and scores of locations to explore.
You can choose one of two main characters to play the single player campaign, or create your own mercenary hero. You can customize your heroes as they grow in experience and power.
You can also play multi-player games against your friends through hotseat play or play-by-email, or over a LAN or the Internet.
