The team said it was prompted to action by complaints from CD purchasers that "unCDs", like those by Celine Dion or crooner Robbie Williams, failed to play in CD drives typically found in PCs and Macintoshes.
The tool, unCDcopy, allows these customers to make copies of their purchased CDs, says Heise. It says it converts the data using some kind of analogue conversion and that a separate tool exists with which to cut the parcel the recording up into separate tracks.
Heise's publishing house produced the Windows utility in cooperation with RapidSolution Software AG.
Note: This program has a german interface, but is very ease to use :)
Step by Step instructions (translation from german):
First you have to enter the Bar Code like you can see - click "weiter"
then you have to choose ur audio device for playback- click "weiter" (laust?rke = volume)
under "Experte" you can choose the encoder, Wav or OGG or MP3 - click "weiter" then u have to choose ur audio device for record
1. make your external CD-Player ready
2. click the "Aufnahme starten" button (Aufnahme = record)
3. utill 10sec start your CD-Player
4. within recording, don´t open/start any application
5. after ending the record , click "weiter" button
Now there you can choose the Cut what u recorded -click "weiter"
here u can edit ur recorded cut
"interpret" - Name of Singer
(the buttons at top have an english tooltip)
after selcting the Cut you want to save -click "weiter"
You can export ur cut to a location you want (Exportieren =Export)
and the you can burn it (Brennen = Burn)
