You can choose to manage any professional league team from any division and start with them in their current or 3rd division. The game features an "Assistant Manager" option that allows the computer to handle various tactical elements of the game that you do not wish to deal with. This includes: contract negotiations, playing formation, tactics, aggression, team practice, player training, ticket prices, win bonuses etc. This effectively creates about thirty difficulty levels (in conjunction with the three standard--easy, medium and hard) allowing you to start with a very basic easy going game, and slowly add new tasks to build up to a sophisticated challenge.
