A closer look at Fredal's Dictionary
It is a reincarnation of the JORJ Shareware dictionary (Jorj Software Co. mid-90s) - which was a TSR/DOS program and also the original Phonetic Dictionary. Because of this unique design, the look-up engine is capable of handling most misspelled requests, as they tend to be phonetically spelled.
Fredal's Dictionary features a unique SCAN function in the Registered version which allows one to scan all definitions for any particular word or character string and thereby create a list of related entries. This version also includes a Thesaurus in the main window..
The program is very intuitive and easy to use and for that reason, the only instructions provided are the notes included in the program itself. These notes can be viewed from the 'About' box which is accessed from the menu displayed when the Title bar Icon is clicked.
The menu is also displayed by right-clicking the Title bar itself.
This dictionary is self- contained and does not require an Internet connection, permitting one to create documents off-line and still have access to a dictionary. FD is a great desktop reference for all writers.
