Overview

What is Par?

Filter for reformatting paragraphs

In depth

A closer look at Par

par is a filter which copies stdin to stdout, changing all white characters (except newlines) to spaces, and reformats each paragraph with appropriate line breaks. Paragraphs are separated by protected, blank, and bodiless lines, and optionally delimited by indentation. Similar to the fmt program found on some BSD systems, but with many additional options.
