allows you to transform your favorite BMP format pictures into a classic, 15-piece slide puzzle.

A closer look at 15puzzle

The game starts by cutting a picture into a number (typically 16) of same-sized rectangular pieces. The piece on the bottom right is removed. The remaining pieces are randomly shuffled around. To solve the puzzle you have to re-create the original picture by sliding pieces into the empty spot.

When you click a piece surrounding the empty spot it slides into the empty spot, or you can use the arrow keys to move the pieces immediately surrounding the empty spot.

15puzzle includes options to change the number of pieces, select a background color for the empty spot, and restore the game window back to its original dimensions. You can also choose to preview the solution, or solve the puzzle one step at a time.
