It is a thunderbird extension that installs an adapted version of sunbird's calendar on this email client. Some of the features in lightning are similar to those in sunbird allowing you to manage multiple calendars at the same time. It is possible to add dates and appointments by clicking on a specific date and filling in all the necessary fields name address date and frequency. The calendar can be viewed in three different modes month by week or hour. In addition lightning installs a sidebar on thunderbird that shows a preview of the events coming up that day or in the next few days.
