BW Gislet 1.0 - World level map control for user input and statistical displayOverview - BW Gislet 1.0 is a world map control (ActiveX/OCX) which allows developers to build applications in which theuser selects a country by clicking on it or to display country level statistics.Applications - Typical applications includes quizzes and the display of country level statisticsand other business and education appications which require a in interactive map. world map.Description - BW Gislet provides two means of controlling the user interface.The display can be controlled programatically using methods such as MapCenter which centers the map at a specified lng/lat or ColorObject which sets the color of a country.The programming input can be minimized by using the built-in interface which facilitates zooming to a region and the use of a navigation tool for zoom and pan operations.The events, properties and methods of the control use the ISO 3166 two character country controls.Longitude and Latitude are used as the coordinate system.The delivery package contains the code for a sample application which includes a quiz and a statistical display.Development Environment & Dependencies - BW Gislet has been developed in MS VB6 and has been tested in that environment.After the initial release it is planned to test in additional development environments.The control requires version 6.0 of the VB Runtime, Common Controls (1) and the Common Dialog, these are not included in the distribution.The cartographic data used by the control is contained in an application specific database which is approximately 1.5 MB.License - The development software is licensed on a single machine basis.The activation code which is installed over internet is specific to the machine from which the software is activated.
