Overview
What is Splittur?
Splits files and creates customizable self-extracting packages
In depth
A closer look at Splittur
Splittur is an advanced file splitting tool. It is able to split any file into a number of smaller parts which are convenient to be sent via e-mail, put to floppy disks or placed on a web-site. The greatest advantage of Splittur is that a package (the set of pieces of an original file plus some data) it produces consists of executable files only. Of course you need all the volumes to reproduce the original file but that's all that you need because all these volumes are totally stand-alone and do not require any external tool to be welded back together. If a file you split is a ZIP or RAR archive, Splittur Extractor (a tool that integrates into the first volume of a package, stub) can unpack it seamlessly after extraction. One more great thing is that you can customize Splittur Extractor inside out: from the window title to the leftside 64x64 pixels image with transparency. You also can encrypt and protect packages with passwords, use any custom file instead of Splittur Extractor and much more. The freely distributed utility Weldur can be used to extract non-executable packages or packages without stubs.
