ANIMA

ANIMA is the 3d people animation application developed specifically for architects and designers, ideal for creating amazing 3d animated people quickly and easily!

ANIMA LITE is free to use even commercially to create still renderings and animations. It has no limits if you only use Metropoly® Ready-Posed assets. To use anima with Metropoly® Rigged models, the PRO version removes all limitations.

AXYZ design ANIMA Overview:

anima® 4 introduces a new and unique hyper-realistic 4d people animation system that includes facial gestures and clothing movements. anima® 4 is the people and crowd animation application developed specifically for architects and designers that will help you create amazing 3d animated people quickly and easily!

Human characters in 3D scenes are becoming more important than ever in visualizations, animations and illustrations. Character animation is a very specialized area and because of its complexity, most of this type of work is time consuming and traditionally restricted to very advanced users or specialists, leaving virtually no access to for the majority of users, but now anima® changes all of that!

1- STILL RENDERS & ANIMATIONS : anima® brings up a toolset to easily populate your still renderings and animation videos using our 3D Scanned Metropoly® Ready-Posed and Metropoly® Rigged 3D Human models.
2- RAMPS, STAIRS, ESCALATORS, MOVING WALKWAYS : With its easy-to-use motion editing tools, anima® enables you to create actors that walk, run, navigate slopes, ride escalators, tackle moving walkways and climb stairs realistically. Whatever your scene’s topology, you can add crowd animated characters that explore every corner.
3- PHOTOREAL CROWDS AT THE CLICK OF A BUTTON: Anima® uses the same high quality 3D people found in our Metropoly collections, so there’s no need to compromise on quality. Our actors are driven by real mocap data and a sophisticated AI engine with automatic procedural motion to achieve super-realistic crowd animations
4- IRREGULAR TERRAIN: Thanks to anima®'s adaptive placement, area and walkway tools, crowd actors can walk, run and stand on nearly any surface. Just define an area and the actors are projected onto the background geometry. Press play and animations adapt automatically to the terrain for flawless integration.
5- CHARACTERS THAT STAND, SIT, CHEER AND MORE: Fill scenes with standing and seated characters using an extensive range of animations, or import more from 3rd party sources. Characters can move from walkways to fixed areas to socialise.
6- YOUR OWN CHARACTERS AND MOTIONS: Users are not limited to the bundled content. Using anima®'s crowd editing tools it’s easy to import and use 3rd party rigged characters and motion capture data.
7- NATIVE PLUGINS FOR 3DS MAX, CINEMA 4D & UNREAL ENGINE!: Work seamlessly with your favorite 3D modeling and rendering tool within a few clicks. Our native plugins will import, manage and optimize textures and meshes while applying ready-to-render materials in just seconds!.
8- TOP INDUSTRY STANDARD EXPORTERS: Import sophisticated and complex crowd animations with ease in your favorite 3D modeling through FBX, OpenCollada or V-Ray Scene formats with our built-in exporter!.
9- EXPLORE REAL-TIME WITH UNREAL ENGINE!: Create mind-blowing unreal immersive experiences populated with realistic animated characters and discover human scale perception as you never did before!.

Anima® is now the first Archviz population tool available for Epic Unreal Engine®, 3ds Max® and Cinema 4D® to help architects, designers and 3D professionals bring hundreds of realistic 3D characters into their scenes.

The new version includes alive™, an innovative technology that establishes a link between your 3D modeling software and anima® allowing a smooth workflow while working and refining your animations.

- IMPROVED INTERFACE: Now you can see a blueprint of the default anima® actor and it’s bone structure in Editing Mode, so you can use it as a reference to adjust any imported motion clip or actor pose. UI style improvements have been made across the board.
- NEW BAKING PROCESS: Now you can bake animations at anytime. There no need to wait to cache all the simulation before activating the bake, you can do it directly and anima® will start the cache automatically if the timeline still hasn’t been cached before.
- NEW alive™ CONNECTION: Through an advanced IPC linking anima® synchronizes automatically with the 3dsMax and Cinema4D plugins keeping cameras, animations, materials and collision backgrounds updated improving your workflow drastically.
- IMPROVED WORKFLOW : Added support for multiple toggles when multiple nodes are selected in the Scene Node Tree. Improved responsiveness with large scenes due to an optimized way to handle tool editions that avoids bottlenecks and unneeded viewport updates. IMPROVED ACTOR AND ANIMATION IMPORTER: Improved compatibility with third party characters (iClone, RenderPeople, HumanAlloy and more…) IMPROVED ACTOR LIBRARY: Re-calibrated skin and material tones for all the actors available for anima®.

anima® is the fastest stand-alone character animation application developed especially for architects and designers, it’s perfect for quickly and easily creating stunning 3D animations in very little time. Anima® 3D character animation software is designed to slash production time on 3D human character animation for architectural visualizations and full motion video, and provide high quality interactive visualizations within the 3D Viewport and an intuitive toolset for creating real time simulations. Anima® works with your existing workflow, importing animations into your favorite professional 3D modeling & rendering package is really simple using our native plugins!Creating complex character animation scenes for your architectural productions has never been so easy!

Anima 3.5 animations Tutorial

1- Time Remapping Effects (Slow-Motion & Time Lapse): Time Remapping Effects NOTES: We recommend that you bake your animations before exporting your scene. Sometimes you might need to create slow motion or time-lapse effects to create a stronger visual impact.
2- Prepare a Motion Clip Using Biped or a Generic model: Prepare a Motion Clip Using Biped or a Generic model Open 3ds Max. Either create a biped rig using the instructions in Biped Creation Workflow, load the Generic Male or Generic Female characters that you can download from here, or use any Metropoly rigged character.
3- Prepare a Motion Clip using Mixamo: Prepare a Motion Clip using Mixamo Mixamo is an online service for automatically rigging characters and preparing and downloading Motion Clips. It is currently free for anyone with an Adobe ID.
4- Using Categories and Tags: Tags and categories help to to organize your resources and tell the system how to match appropriate motion clips to characters. Tags are used to define the attributes of actors. Examples might include age, gender, ethnicity type of dress etc.
5- Importing Motion Clips: In addition to being able to extend anima® with additional Characters, you can also import your own motion clips. Motion clips should be applied to an anima® compatible rig and imported using the FBX format.
6- Bake Animations: Why bake animations? Anima is a true simulator, this means that as you add or edit actors, motions, walkways, areas and so on the different elements act like dominoes, interacting with one another in ways that are not always predictable.

Anima EXPORTERS

- Export actors in T-pose: If you want to use any actor outside anima®, you can easily export it to FBX in T-pose following this process: Start a new empty scene and drag’n’drop any actor you want to export.
- Collada Exporter: Collada Exporter NOTES: We recommend that you bake your animations before exporting your scene. When you are done working in Anima and you need to export your scene to be opened in a different 3d software, please follow these steps: Access the main menu in the upper right corner of the Anima screen.
- FBX Exporter: Fbx Exporter NOTES: We recommend that you bake your animations before exporting your scene. When you are done working in Anima and you need to export your scene into another 3D program, you can use the following steps. Open the main menu from the Anima icon in the upper left corner of the Anima window
- V-Ray scene Exporter: V-Ray Scene Exporter NOTES: We recommend that you bake your animations before exporting your scene. When you are done working in Anima and you need to export your scene to be opened in a different 3d software, please follow these steps: Access the main menu in the upper right corner of the Anima screen.
