Folder Manager is a small file manager developed for helping you check out lists with files and folders stored in your computer, and copy, move, rename or delete items.

User interface

The GUI looks simple and clean. You can rely on tooltips for viewing short description about the program’s features. Tooltips appear each time you hover your mouse cursor over a specific parameter.

Explore the content of folders

Folder Manager provides quick access to an Explorer-like panel which allows you to browse throughout the content of your folders. In addition, you can view information about each file, such as name, size, date and time, and refresh or print data.The program also reveals the total number of files and folders and you can filter the results by files or directories, set up the order of appearance (files or folders first), as well as sort out items by file extension.

File management features

Folder Manager gives you the possibility to delete files by sending them to the Recycle Bin or wiping them out permanently from your system so they cannot be recovered using dedicated tools.When it comes to copying files/folders, you can make the utility wait for your permission or start the process automatically. In case of file conflicts, the application is able to replace or rename the items. The same features can be applied to moving items.You can also back up a folder or file, cancel the backup task, manage file conflicts, and delete the source items at the end of the task.The program lets you perform searches that can be applied to the root directory of the current disk, the current folder or a target item. Moreover, you are offered the option to alter the properties (hidden, system, read-only, archive) and modify the date/time (creation, last accessed, last modified) of folders and/or files.

Final remarks and performance assessments

Folder Manager is not as rich-featured as Total Commander, Q-Dir, xplorer2, Unreal Commander, Directory Opus, and XYplorer, but it makes it a good impression with its simple design and handy features which are suitable especially for beginners. The tool proves to be quite speedy and leaves a minimal footprint on system resources.
