With Disk Manager you can create and archive catalogs for CD and DVD contents, as well as for any disk or directory on your computer. This is done by creating file lists that you can later access to quickly locate a specific item. The application contains intuitive settings and doesn't require setup.

Wrapped in a clean and intuitive interface, Disk Manager has an embedded folder structure that lists all files and folders from any disk or drive you indicate. You can check out their name, size, date and full path, as well as sort directories normally, always up, or mixed with files.

Browse files or folders and save the catalog

A search function is put at your disposal for swiftly tracking down specific folders or files across the entire indexed location. However, it doesn't support partial matches, so you have to write the full name of a folder, along with the full name and extension of a file. Most users might think this is rather inconvenient, especially when having to remember the name and extension of numerous items in large catalogs.The directory and file list can be saved as BZip2 (BZ2 format) or XML, and later reopened to review your catalog. It's possible to remove any file or folder entry from the list, as well as to update the view with new or changed items.

Evaluation and conclusion

We haven't come across any stability issues in our tests, thanks to the fact that the software utility didn't hang, crash or prompt error messages. It had minimal impact on computer performance.On the other hand, the search tool is a bit inconvenient. We must also take into account that Disk Manager hasn't been updated for a long time and it remained in beta development stage.
