ERUNTgui represents the graphical user interface for ERUNT, an application that enables you to quickly backup the Windows Registry as a security measure and restore it, as well as to optimize it, in order to boost overall performance.After a brief and uneventful setup procedure that does not require special input from the user, you are greeted by a regular window with a simple layout, where three buttons give you direct access to ERUNTgui's main functions. Just make sure to run the tool with administrative rights.Backing up the registry is done with the simple click of a button; it doesn't require user intervention. However, before doing so, you may be interested in configuring some settings, like changing the default backup folder, including other open user registries, and appending the date and time to the folder.It is also possible to enable an auto-backup feature at every Windows startup and write the total days to keep it for, as well as to change the date and time patterns. Settings may be restored to their factory values.In order to restore a particular backup, all you have to do is use the file browser to point out to the file path. Last but not least, the backup optimization module takes a longer time to finish, compared to the backup tasks, but it's just as easy to activate; a computer restart is required to apply the new modifications.ERUNTgui has a minimal impact on the system resources, using a low amount of CPU and RAM. No error dialogs have been shown throughout our tests. Thanks to its intuitive layout and overall simplicity, less experienced users can quickly get familiarized with ERUNTgui. There is also a portable edition available.
