Overview

What is Your Menu?

Your Menu : Create an application, or video game launcher directly in the context menu as single items, or cascading menus with this practical tool

In depth

A closer look at Your Menu

The default context menu is fitted with some basic file management operations, which can differ, especially if you right-click files, folders, or an empty space. However, there are some applications which automatically create new entries, but you can also add custom shortcuts, or menus with Your Menu.

Custom app launcher in the context menu

Adding new entries to the context menu can also be done without any third-party applications such as this one, but it can take some time, patience, and effort. Your Menu simplifies the whole operation to just a few mouse clicks, also creating an option to remove entries, in case you ever decide you no longer need them. The application isn’t a context menu editor per se, so you’re only able to work with custom entries. This means that you have no control over existing elements, so you’d best make sure the context menu isn’t already crowded before you add more items. The main window also provides a picture preview of a general menu, so you get an idea what you get in the end.

Single, or cascading menus

You have the possibility to create two types of items, either single, or cascading menus. The first lets you specify a name to display in the context menu, with a dedicated field to specify the program path. Simply clicking the path field brings up a browse dialog so you can easily point to the program executable, but only EXE files are supported. The second type of entry you can add places more items inside a folder. The process is similar to adding single items, but here you have the choice of adding more items. You’re restricted to EXE files again, and with no option to add more folders inside an existing menu. What’s more, every cascading menu can hold up to six different programs.

In conclusion

To sum it up, Your Menu gives you the possibility to easily create a custom launcher directly in the context menu. Sure enough, you’re limited to EXE files, and only a handful of items in the cascading menu, but the simplicity of the process, and easy reverse method is sure to make it worth your while.
