KUninstall : A user-friendly and portable piece of software that helps you remove programs from your hard drive using different installation modes
KUninstall is an open-source and portable software that allows you to remove programs from your hard drive.
Why opt for portable tools
Thanks to its portability, KUninstall will not make any changes to your Windows registry entries. You can also place it on an USB flash drive and run it on any computer.
User-friendly layout
The user interface of KUninstall is simple and easy to understand. You can view a list of products that can be uninstalled, along with their version and publisher name.In addition, you can view the install date, location and source, use a filter to search for programs, as well as a finder to point out the opened programs you want to remove (by using the 'drag and drop' method).
Different installation modes
If you open the context menu on a particular application, you can select the "Uninstall," "Modify" or "Quiet Uninstall" mode. You can also view detailed information (e.g. entry name, install size, frequency) and rename the program. Furthermore, you can open its website, installation folder or the Registry Editor.
Configuration settings
In the "Options" menu, you can change the font type and size, select preferred language, as well as enable KUninstall to show only valid items, show icons and ask for confirmation when uninstalling a program.
Performance and final thought
The software uses a very low amount of system resources and didn't freeze or crash during our tests. On the other hand, there are limited options when it comes to selecting the interface language and there is no available help file. Nonetheless, the biggest disadvantage of KUninstall is that it doesn't display products in alphabetical order.
