Amara Slideshow Builder is a simple-to-use program that allows you to create animated slideshows from images. It can be handled with ease by skilled users.The tool comes with a standard interface where you can get started by setting the movie dimensions. Some properties can be customized when it comes to the border (color), background (color or image, transparency) and slide scale (keep the original picture size).But you can also use a foreground SWF clip that can be imported from the hard drive, and set its alignment, as well as apply various effects (e.g. fade, scale, wipe corner, rotate) which can be randomized.Amara Slideshow Builder also allows you to integrate a sound file and configure settings when it comes to the loop mode, volume level and sound control (alignment, distance from edge, button and guide size, colors).From the 'Type' area you can modify the slideshow type (standard, album with navigation buttons or thumbnails), adjust the slide duration and enable loop mode. Text can also be inserted into the movie, after you pick the alignment, font face, size and color. Last but not least, you can add a link and target  via the 'Slides' section. Results are available for preview within the interface or default web browser.The program runs on a moderate amount of CPU and system memory, and has a good response time. We have not come across any issues during our evaluation; Amara Slideshow Builder did not freeze, crash or pop up errors.
