It is suited for beginners and experts alike, sporting a user-friendly environment that covers the basics of OS administration.The set of tweaks, optimizations and customizations delivered by the package allow users to enhance the behavior of the computer without the need to purchase additional hardware.EnhanceMy8 Free is brought inside an appealing and intuitive interface, where its set of features is neatly organized in tabs, allowing users to experiment with it in a seamless manner.First and foremost, you will be greeted with an extensive report on your computer’s hardware, including the process, mainboard and memory, SPD, display adapters and sensors.The following tabs provides a set of tools that allow you to access active processes and services, as well as to perform a cleanup of the registry or to administer the startup configuration.However, a few of the options displayed in this tab are not available in the Free edition. We’re talking about the Disk Cleaner and the Defragmenter, which become unlocked only in the Pro edition.The same applies to the ‘Most Used Tweaks’ tab that contains paid utilities exclusively, related to system performance, security and network.Moving on the System section; here, you can manage restore points and get access to a common collection of Windows built-in System Tools such as command prompt, services, calculator, narrator and so on.The Optimizations tab allows users to configure settings concerning the memory and cache and various tweaks related to startup, shutdown and visual effects, which will lead to an enhanced behavior if set correctly.As far as Customizations are concerned, users can lock or hide the taskbar, as well as to disable hot corners, which is a feature specific to Windows 8.All in all, EnhanceMy8 Free makes for a consistent package, but the user is constantly faced with locked features which become available only in the paid edition. This is rather frustrating and may lead to the application losing ground.
