Properties Viewer is a small-sized tool that gives you the possibility to examine detailed properties about the Java Runtime Environment installed on your workstation, such as deployment baseline URL, security mix code, or if it allows untrusted apps to launch.

Run the downloaded file directly

It's packed in a single .jnlp file that you can copy to the hard disk or external storage device to seamlessly launch it on any PC with Java installed. However, you may be prompted to add it to Java's exception list in its control panel to gain access to the main window, due to security reasons.

View, analyze and copy JRE details

The installed copy of Java Runtime Environment is automatically identified and scanned as soon as you launch Properties Viewer, so you can start analyzing information on the spot. It includes the status of the deployment log, console startup mode and capture MIME types, roaming profile, blacklist verification, and system tray icon.Moreover, you can find out if Java bypasses the local proxy or overrides the proxy hosts, in addition to the modified timestamp, security level, HTTPS protocols, user name, script, time zone and variant, along with the Java class version, vendor, and home directory, among others.One, more or all fields can be selected and copied to be able to paste Java-related data in a text editor and save a document for closer inspection and analysis.

Has modest interface and options, but show detailed info

Unfortunately, the tool doesn't implement options for skipping all these steps by exporting details to file, nor for printing them. The menu bar has many entries, but most of them are grayed out. It seems that the developer has yet to implement them and hasn't updated Properties Viewer for a considerable amount of time.Taking everything into account, Properties Viewer proves to be a resourceful utility for revealing important information about Java Runtime Environment, showing it in raw, unprocessed form.
