Sure enough, it’s not a lengthy task, but for even greater comfort, Window Sprite wants to help you hide, configure top priority, or transparency of active windows through hotkeys.

Advantages of a portable app

A major advantage is that you can carry the application around on a thumb drive to use on both your home, and work computers, since installation isn’t involved to make the application work. This also means you don’t have to worry about the target PC’s health status, because registry entries are not modified in the process.The application can only target active windows, which are immediately shown in the main window on launch. There’s no preview on selection so you need to figure out which is which from the title. In case you open up different windows in the meantime, there’s a refresh button to fill the list with any missing items.

Good, but far from being a pro

You can only perform operations on a selected item from the list, which is also when the corresponding button becomes available. As such, a window can be hidden, brought up, made to stay on top of everything else, have transparency set, or a hotkey assigned to quickly hide, and bring back up.All hidden windows are removed from the taskbar, but saved in a list accessible from an application menu. Sadly, the application needs to be manually set to run with Windows, and hotkeys configured at every launch, since there’s no option to save hotkey configurations.

Bottom line is that the better your desktop space is handled, the easier it is to work with multiple windows at a time. Window Sprite comes with good intentions, but takes too much setup time at every launch, with no option to save general configurations to specific windows.
