Overview
What is TEE?
TEE : Make files or batch files where you wish to redirect the output to a file but you still wish to see the output with this software solution
In depth
A closer look at TEE
If you attempted to create a file for which you need redirect the output, then the general rule is to place a 'type' command after the compile/build command if you are using editor error tracking macros. The problem, however, if that if the command you use fails, you do not get to see the output. TEE is a lightweight piece of software designed to help you overcome this issue, as it enables you to redirect the output to a file and still be able to preview it. The utility is designed to act as a filter that reads the standard input and hence, you should direct it to standard input first to process the errors you may encounter. It is important to note that you need a Rex interpreter in order to use the application, as you cannot rely on the file type associations working correctly. While Regina is recommended in this case, you should bear in mind that it does not search the path of the file. Therefore, you should make sure to supply the file path when you are invoking it.
