Barcode4J is a free Java-based tool that enables you to generate one- and two-dimensional barcodes that can be saved as SVG, EPS, PNG and JPEG images, as well as AWT (Java2D) and text files. The resulted items can be printed or integrated into various software projects.When it comes to 1D barcodes, the program offers support for Interleaved 2 of 5, EAN-128 and GS1-128 (based on Code 128), POSTNET, ITF-14, Codabar, Royal Mail Customer Barcode (Four State), Code 39, UPC-A and UPC-E (with supplementals), Code 128, EAN-13 and EAN-8 (with supplementals), in addition to USPS Intelligent Mail (4-State Customer Barcode).As far as 2D types are concerned, Barcode4J is capable of creating PDF 417 (ISO/IEC 15438:2001 - E), QR Code (ISO/IEC 18004:2006 - E) (requires ZXing) and DataMatrix (ISO/IEC 16022:2000 - E) barcodes.It includes a servlet with support for SVG, EPS, PNG and JPEG output files, a command-line interface, along with plugins for Apache Xalan (XSLT extension that generates SVGs), Apache FOP (support as fo:instream-foreign-object) and SAXON XSLT Processor (XLST extension that generates SVGs).The downloaded package includes several examples, including a preview of all supported barcode symbologies. There are also PDF and web app examples available.
