SSLCertScanner : Identify SSL certificates across the network remotely, view and export reports quickly using this intuitive app which does not require experience
Constantly working with web content can be dangerous, but there are many methods to keep data safe, even through trusted certificates. As such, SSLCertScanner comes as a small program developed to help users look for SSL certificates remotely. It includes a few intuitive options that can be handled even by first-time users.
Installer and portable package
The tool comes with an installer and portable counterpart. The latter option allows you to drop the executable file anywhere on the hard disk and just click it to run.It is also possible to move SSLCertScanner to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any workstation you have access to.Moreover, the Windows registry and Start menu do not get updated with new entries, and no additional files are created on the HDD without your consent.
Comfortable GUI with direct options
The user-friendly interface is represented by a common window with a clean layout, where all you have to do is specify a host name or IP address, SSL port and SLL service type (HTTPS or LDAPS), and click a button to start the scanning procedure.
View and export information
The results list displays the host IP address and port number, certificate subject name, issue and expiration dates, together with the status for each item found.Aside from viewing certificate details, it is possible to generate a report and save it to file for further evaluation and safekeeping. There are no other notable settings available here.
Finally
SSLCertScanner has a good response time and requires a low quantity of CPU and RAM to work properly, so it does not affect the computer's overall performance. We haven't found any issues in our tests, since the tool did not hang or crash. All in all, SSLCertScanner serves its purpose.
