AutoScan Network is a software application designed specifically for helping you scan, explore and manage your network. It provides a list with all of the equipment conneded to the network.

Configuration wizard

When you run the utility for the first time, a wizard pops out offering you a step-by-step approach throughout the entire configuration process. You may assign a name to your network, include private subnets, specify the SNMP community name, and activate the IP dynamic mode.Furthermore, you may connect to the local host or a user-defined one by providing details about the IP address, password and port, and select the network interface.

User-friendly looks

AutoScan Network sports a clean and intuitive design that allows you to easily add a new network to the list, view and save information, search for data, configure several settings, activate the intrusion alert mode, and open the log for viewing info about all tasks and possible errors.

How it works

The application offers support for multithreaded scanning and automatic network discovery mode. Plus, it is able to process entire subnets and monitors routers, firewalls, and network services such as SMTP, HTTP and POP.In addition, AutoScan Network reveals information about the OS of the connected computers, brand and model. The intrusion alert feature proves to be quite handy as it triggers an automatic alarm each time it detects a new connection. You may export network data to XML file format.

Configuration settings

AutoScan Network gives you the freedom to specify the SMTP server, add ports (by specifying the port number, type, service, description and programs), edit or delete ports, as well as change, insert or remove OS fingerprinting.

Pretty good for home users

All in all, AutoScan Network comes with a basic feature pack that suits home users. It may not be of great help to system administrators as it lacks advanced parameters. You can use it especially on older operating systems as it hasn’t been updated for a while.
