MyRouter Log is a networking tool capable of listening to log files automatically created by ADSL modems and routers via UDP.This way, you can monitor and keep track of the activities carried out by the router for troubleshooting purposes in case of stability issues. It features some advanced settings that can be quickly configured by experienced users.

Setup, prerequisites, and interface

Installing this program takes minimal time and effort, since there are no special options or third-party components bundled with the setup file. However, you must have .NET Framework, otherwise it won't work.The interface is user-friendly, based on a large window with a minimalistic appearance, where you can start listening to the port (514) with the click of a button as well as stop the monitor just as easily.

View log details and modify settings

Displayed statistics include the date and time of each action performed by your ADSL modem or router, in addition to the number of total logged items. There are no options implemented for printing or exporting statistics to file. On the other hand, you can select and copy text.When it comes to app preferences, you can set the number of lines to display in the main frame, disable the log file that's written by default in the installed directory of MyRouter Log, show messages and items count in the systray, or disable these notifications. The listened port cannot be changed.There's also a help file available that shows instructions with how to set up your router by logging into its admin interface.

Evaluation and conclusion

It had a low impact on the computer's performance in our tests, running on a low amount of CPU and RAM. It worked smoothly, without triggering the OS to hang, crash or indicate errors.All in all, MyRouter Log offers a simple solution for analyzing log details recorded by ADSL modems and routers.
