Designed as the enhanced edition of PuTTy, this software application brings additional features to the table for those who want to work with a Telnet/SSH client, such as auto-login username and password. It does no require installation.

No setup necessary

Since there is no setup pack involved, you can drop the executable file in any part of the hard drive and just click it to bring up PuttyMOD's configuration panel and start tinkering with options. Otherwise, you can save it to a USB flash drive to directly launch it on any PC with minimum effort and no other installers. Plus, it does not modify Windows registry settings.

Manage multiple connections and logging

The software application enables you to change parameters for the PuTTy session, terminal, connection mode, and UI appearance. The connection type can be set to Raw, Telnet, Rlogin, SSH or Serial and, after specifying the host name and port number, you can save the connection to a list and create additional ones.As far as the logging mode goes, you can opt for an all session output, SSH packets and raw data, printable output, or SSH packets. The program's activity is saved to a log file and you can modify its name and location on the disk.

Control terminal emulation and advanced terminal features

PuttyMOD can apply implicit CR in every LF and implicit LF in every CR, use the background color to erase the screen, make text blink, use force for the local echo and line editing, as well as send the ANSI printer output to any device selected from a list.Moreover, you can remap the keyboard when it comes to the Backspace, Home, End and Function keys, as well as enable extra keyboard features (AltGr acts as Compose key, Ctrl+Alt is different than AltGr).The software utility lets you disable the app cursor keys and keypad mode, remote-controlled terminal resizing, switching to an alternative terminal screen, Arabic text shaping, and bidirectional text display, among others. Evaluation and conclusion

No error dialogs popped up in our tests, and the program did not hang or crash. It has a good response time to commands and minimal impact on computer performance, using low CPU and memory. Taking everything into account, PuttyMOD seems to be a reliable Telnet/SSH client for those looking for extra features.
