Time-lapse is a photography technique that uses a higher frame rate for playing the film frames than for capturing the images, creating the illusion of high-speed action. In other words, time appears to be moving faster than usual in a time-lapse video played at normal speed. This eye-deceiving effect can be obtained using dedicated applications, and one example is Time Lapser.

Create time-lapse videos of anything you can think of

This lightweight application makes it possible for you to merge several photos into a single clip that uses the time lapse technique. For it to work properly, you need photos of the same object, being, or scenery in different states. To test it, you can start off with classic time-lapse subjects, such as the movement of the sun or the moon (different stages of a sunset would work just fine), plants growing, people walking on the street, or the evolution of a construction site. Of course, you are not limited to these subject, as any photo set that involves movement can be turned into a time-lapse clip.

Preview the time-lapse video and manipulate individual frames

All the options within the main window are highly intuitive so you should have no trouble using the application. To begin with, you must select the source directory that stores all the photos (be careful, as just the JPG format is supported).Time Lapser displays a preview of the selected image in the dedicated area, allowing you to browse through the set of frames and remove any of them with a click if needed. Furthermore, frames can be duplicated or verified, and new frames can be added with ease.Luckily, you get to also preview the resulting video before creating it. The output is saved in AVI format in the same location using a custom frame rate.

Create time-lapse videos and watermark them

A secondary function of Time Lapser is to facilitate video watermarking using text boxes or locally-stored images. But its main function is to create time-lapse videos, a task that should be fulfilled without too much trouble even by inexperienced users.
