allows you to analyze optical and electro-optical systems.
Virtual Optical Bench (VOB) is designed for educational purposes and the fundamental analysis of optical systems.
It simulates an optical bench with a light source, optical elements, and an image plane.
The program's features include: 2D and 3D displaying of optical designs with real beams; support for MTF and PSF diagrams; the ability to perform diffraction calculations; displaying of lenses, prisms, mirrors, and so on; support for spot diagrams; and the ability to design non-axial systems.
VOB also includes a custom component library, a glass library of major manufacturers, and the ability to perform image synthesis from test objects and images, simulations of optical detectors like mechanical scanners and CCD arrays, and animations of lenses and beams.
Virtual Optical Bench runs on
Windows 95/98/Me/NT
and is available under the
Time-limited Trial
license
— the installer is 1 MB.
We’ve catalogued it under
